The Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami Academy U-17 and U-15 teams todayclosed their weekend of GA Cup Regional Qualifier games at the Power Training Complex in Chester, PA.
On Saturday, Oct. 12 the Academy teams took on D.C. United’s U-17 and U-15 teams respectively. Both Inter Miami Academy teams were victorious.
The U-17s defeated D.C. United’s U-17 team 2-1. The game was scoreless at halftime, but an eventful second half saw Inter Miami take a lead, lose the lead to a D.C. United equalizer, and eventually score a winner. Logan Batiste and Edison Azcona were the Club’s goal scorers.
The U-15 team also played a thrilling game against D.C. United. A high-scoring 3-2 win for Inter Miami was marked by a goal from Felipe Valencia and a brace from Axel Perez.
Today, Monday, Oct. 14 the U-17s and U-15s played against the New York Red Bulls academy, where both Inter Miami’s teamsdefeated.
The U-17s were shutout 2-0 by New York Red Bulls in their final game while the U-15s also closed the weekend with a 2-0loss.
The Inter Miami CF Academy teams will continue GA Cup Regional Qualifiers in February. All IMCF Academy teams will also continue their U.S. Soccer Development Academy schedule this coming weekend.
