Last week from Dec. 14 to 17, the Inter Miami CF Academy presented by Baptist Health proudly carried out the 2023 Freedom Cup. The second edition of the in-house, high-level tournament at the Florida Blue Training Center hosted 13 different academies and encompassed three age brackets: U-12, U-13 and U-14. Additionally, U-16 and U-19 sides were in action through the showcase component of the tournament.
Let’s take a look below at how results shaped up for the different categories throughout the four days of competition at the 2023 Freedom Cup!
In the U-12 category, it was the Inter Miami CF Academy team that were crowned champions after tallying nine points by winning each of its three matchups in the tournament, topping Miami Rush Kendall SC 6-2, Greater Boca YSA SFFA 5-2 and the Barça Academy Pro Miami 7-2.
Moving onto the U-13 category, it was the IMCF Discovery team that went home as the winners after recording eight points through a goalless draw against Orlando City Youth Soccer Orlando City SC and 7-1 and 5-1 wins over Miami Rush Kendall SC and Weston FC, respectively.
Lastly, it was Miami Rush Kendall SC that claimed champions honors in the U-14 category with three wins to total nine points, defeating IMCF 2-1, South Florida Football Academy 1-0 and Athletic Club Miami 1-0.
