Inter Miami CF Homegrown midfielder Benjamin Cremaschi has been called up to represent the U.S. Men’s Olympic Team for the team’s upcoming November training camp and friendly matches in San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain as the team continues preparing ahead of the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.
The international friendlies are set to carry on with preparations for the U.S. Men’s Olympic Team as they return to the Games for the first time since 2008. The U.S. will play two games in San Pedro del Pinatar, taking on Iraq on Saturday, Nov. 18 and Morocco on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at Pinatar Arena. Cremaschi most recently represented the U.S. Olympic side last month in a training camp in Phoenix, Ariz. as the team kicked off preparations for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, appearing in a pair of victories against Mexico and Japan in friendlies in that window.
Born in the United States, Cremaschi is of Argentine descent and is thus eligible to represent either country. The 18-year-old midfielder has previously represented both countries at the youth levels. Notably, he made his senior debut on the international stage with the USMNT in September, coming on as a second-half substitute in the team’s 4-0 win over Oman in a friendly on Sept. 12.
The young midfielder impressed this year in his first season following his promotion to the Club’s First Team after coming through the Inter Miami CF Academy and Inter Miami CF II. In all, Cremaschi made 41 appearances across all competitions in 2023, registering three goals and seven assists. He was a key member in the team’s 2023 Leagues Cup title-winning run, including scoring a goal in the thrilling matchup against FC Dallas in quarterfinals that resulted in a 4-4 draw before netting the decisive kick from the spot in the subsequent penalty shootout to secure the win.
