Inter Miami CF II and Academy U-17 midfielder Kobi Thomas has been called up to the Jamaican U-20 national team. Thomas joined the team earlier this week for a training camp and will remain with them through Saturday, June 4.
The call up comes after Thomas’ strong start to 2022, in which he has made his professional debut with Inter Miami CF II and netted his first two professional goals, scoring in consecutive matches. Thomas, 16, also featured at the 2022 Generation adidas Cup for the Inter Miami U-17 team, helping guide the team to the semifinals.
Thomas joins the list of current and former Inter Miami CF Academy players to be called up to a national team. The list includes: Noah Allen (U.S. U-20 MYNT), Edison Azcona (Dominican Republic senior and youth national teams), Israel Boatwright (Dominican Republic U-20 national team), Benjamin Cremaschi (U.S. U-19 MYNT), Tyler Austin, Justin Ellis, Santiago Morales and Felipe Valencia (U.S. U-15 MYNT), Logan Batiste and Tyler Hall (U.S. U-17 MYNT), among others.
