Inter Miami CF II defender Israel Boatwright has been called up by the Dominican Republicās U-23 National Team for their upcoming friendlies during the October international window.
The Dominican Republic and Boatwright are set to play two friendlies at the Stade PĆ©re Jego in Casablanca, Morocco, first facing Iraq on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 11 a.m. ET before taking on Morocco on Monday, Oct. 16 at 3 p.m. ET.Ā
Boatwright has previously been called up by the Dominican Republic at the U-20 and senior levels. Notably, in 2022 he was a key member for the U-20 side at the 2022 Concacaf U-20 Championship in which the team historically earned the nationās first-ever qualifications for a FIFA U-20 World Cup and the Summer Olympics, and subsequently went on to feature as a starter in the teamās three group stage matches 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina.
At the club level, the 18-year-old Academy product recently wrapped up the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro regular season with Inter Miami II after signing his first professional contract with the team in May. In all, the right back made 16 appearances for the team this year, 13 of them starts, registering three assists in the process. Additionally, Boatwright featured in a 2023 MLS regular season match for Inter Miami while being on a short-term loan agreement from the ClubāS MLS NEXT Pro affiliate.
