Inter Miami CF forward Josef MartÃnez has been called up by the Venezuelan national team for its upcoming friendlies this month.
Venezuela and MartÃnez will face Honduras on June 15 at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. before traveling to East Hartford, Connecticut to play Guatemala at Rentschler Field on June 18.Â
MartÃnez has represented the Venezuelan national team 62 times in his career, registering 14 goals and three assists. He started his international career in the youth national teams before making his debut for the senior team in August 2011. Notably, he made history by scoring a brace in the 2-1 win over Atlanta last month at DRV PNK Stadium that saw him become the fastest player to score 100 MLS regular season goals, reaching the mark in 142 matches.
