Inter Miami CF defender Sergii Kryvtsov has been called up to the Ukrainian national team for its upcoming slate of international matches in June. Â
Ukraine will first take on Germany in an international friendly match at Weserstadion in Bremen, Germany on June 12, before playing a pair of UEFA Euro qualifying matches over the following week. The team will first play on the road against North Macedonia on June 16 in Skopje’s Philip II Arena, followed by Malta on the 19 in Anton Malatinsky Stadium in Trnava, Slovakia.
The 32-year old center-back has made an immediately-felt impact on Inter Miami since joining the team in January. Kryvtsov has started 11 of Inter Miami’s 13 games played so far this regular season, and has become a mainstay along the Herons’ defensive back of the field. Kryvstov scored the opener in Miami’s first match of the season at home against CF Montreal, later earning him honors on the MLS Team of the Matchday for Week 1.
Before joining Inter Miami, Kryvtsov was an eight-time Ukrainian League champion, seven-time Ukrainian Cup winner and two-time Ukrainian Super Cup winner with Ukrainian powerhouse Shakhtar Donetsk. Additionally, Kryvstov has recorded 31 appearances with his national team so far in his career.
