Inter Miami CF announced today that goalkeeper Drake Callender has been called into U.S. U-23 Men’s National Team camp by head coach and Inter Miami CF assistant coach Jason Kreis. Callender will report to camp in Guadalajara, Mexico ahead of the Concacaf Men’s Olympic Qualifying Championship this month.
Callender, who was named to the USA’s provisional roster for Olympic qualifying earlier this month, will replace Jonathan Klinsman who exited camp with an injury.
Inter Miami first acquired Callender’s Homegrown Player Rights in Nov. 2019 before officially signing him in Dec. 2019. The goalkeeper spent the 2020 MLS season with the Inter Miami First Team, appearing in several matchday squads.
Following the completion of camp, Callender will adhere to necessary health and safety protocol upon his return to the Club.
