Inter Miami CF goalkeeper Drake Callender has been named to the bench of the Team of the Matchday for Matchday 7 of the 2023 MLS regular season. He made the squad following a stellar performance against FC Dallas in which he made seven saves.
Callender made several saves of note, including a stellar reaction save on a second attempt following a rebound off of a block in the 15th minute.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper also provided a boost with his distribution, completing 83% of his passes on the night.
Callender currently leads MLS with 33 saves through the first seven matchdays. His 80.5% save percentage also ranks in the top 10 among shot-stoppers across the league in 2023.
This marks the third time Callender has been named to the Team of the Matchday this season, while Inter Miami has had at least one representative on five of the seven teams, and eight total selections.
