Bryan Meredith, the fifth and final player selected by Inter Miami CF in the 2019 MLS Expansion Draft, is the 14th player signed to Inter Miami CF’s inaugural roster. The goalkeeper was selected from Seattle Sounders FC.
"Most teams carry three or four goalkeepers, and it’s important to have someone who’s been in a really good club for a long time,” said Inter Miami CF Sporting Director Paul McDonough.
Meredith is a 30-year-old goalkeeper who spent five seasons with the Sounders as well as three seasons with the San Jose Earthquakes. In his time in Seattle, he compiled 13 MLS appearances, starting in 11 of those games and keeping four clean sheets.
The 6-foot-2 goalkeeper also spent several years outside of the MLS, including stops with the New York Cosmos in the NASL, IK Brage in the highest division of Swedish soccer and Kitsap Pumas and Central Jersey Spartans in USL League Two.
