Inter Miami CF announced today that it has acquired $225,000 in 2023 General Allocation Money (GAM), a natural first round selection in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft, and the Priority Homegrown Rights to Inter Miami CF II striker Shanyder Borgelin from the Philadelphia Union in exchange for defender Damion Lowe.  The Philadelphia Union will retain a sell-on percentage of any future transfer regarding Borgelin.

“We want to thank Damion for everything he’s done for Inter Miami during his time with the Club and wish him the best moving forward,” said Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Chris Henderson. “We feel this move provides us with valuable assets that will help us build on our success moving forward.”

Lowe, 29, joined Inter Miami ahead of the 2022 MLS season and went on to start in 28 regular season matches, registering one goal and one assist in the process, and started the team’s playoff game.

As part of the deal, Inter Miami acquired the Priority Homegrown Rights to Inter Miami CF II striker Borgelin, who joined the Club’s MLS NEXT Pro side ahead of the 2022 season after previously featuring for the Philadelphia Union academy. Borgelin is a South Florida native.

Inter Miami CF would like to thank Lowe for his contributions to the Club, on and off the pitch.
