Inter Miami CF announced today that it has acquired $500,000 in General Allocation Money ($250,000 in 2023 and $250,000 in 2024) from the Philadelphia Union in exchange for the permanent transfer of Julián Carranza. Additionally, Inter Miami CF will retain a sell-on percentage in the event of a future permanent transfer of the forward.
“We would like to thank Julián for his contributions to the club as one of the first signings in Inter Miami history, and wish him good luck in his future. This transaction gives us additional funds to continue building a roster that helps us reach our objectives moving forward,” said Inter Miami CF Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Chris Henderson.
Carranza signed for Inter Miami in July 2019 from Club Atlético Banfield in his native Argentina, becoming one of the first two signings in club history. The Argentine registered 42 appearances, 11 of them starts, and three goals over his two seasons with Inter Miami, before being loaned to the Union on Dec. 23, 2021.
