Inter Miami CF announced today that it has signed midfielder and 2021 team MVP Gregore to a contract extension through the 2025 Major League Soccer (MLS) season with an option for 2026.
“Gregore encapsulates everything we want out of an Inter Miami player, so we’re really happy to keep him with us for a long time,” said Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Chris Henderson. “Gregore is not only our engine in the middle of the field, but a leader both on and off the pitch. We’re excited to see him return soon and continue to build an exciting team with him moving forward.”
“I’m honored to continue to represent this great Club. I will keep fighting to bring us to the places we want to reach as a team, and will do everything I can to help lead this amazing group,” said Gregore. “Inter Miami has given me a lot in my time with the Club and I want to repay that faith in me by giving the best of myself at all times.”
Gregore, 29, joined Inter Miami ahead of the 2021 MLS season and quickly became an invaluable member of the team. The Brazilian midfielder played and started in 29 of the team’s 34 matches in his first season with the team, became captain, and earned Inter Miami team MVP honors after leading the team in tackles and duels.
Gregore has gone on to feature in 62 regular season matches for the Club, starting in every single one, and played all 90 minutes of the team’s 2022 MLS Cup Playoffs match. In that time, he has registered eight assists.
The Brazilian started the 2023 campaign strong, playing all 180 available minutes, registering an assist in the process, and leading the team to two victories and two clean sheets, before suffering a long-term injury.
