In honor of Veterans Day today, Inter Miami CF Staff and U15 Inter Miami CF Academy players teamed up with Feeding South Florida for the Club’s third annual Serving Those Who Serve Us event presented by Publix. Serving Those Who Serve Us is the Club’s annual thanksgiving initiative that focuses on the Military and allows the Club to serve and thank the service men and women who dedicate their lives to serving our country.
The program is in partnership with Club partner Publix, the official supermarket of Inter Miami CF and this year, marked the first year the program was also in collaboration with Feeding South Florida. The addition brought together three major South Florida brands to enable the Club to serve and honor even more veterans in our region with this year’s iteration.
Feeding South Florida is a local non-profit whose mission is to end hunger in South Florida by providing immediate access to nutritious food, leading hunger and poverty advocacy efforts and transforming lives through innovative programming and education.
This year marked the largest turn out to date, as we welcomed over 100 veterans and their loved ones to the home of Inter Miami CF, DRV PNK Stadium. The veterans and their families enjoyed a family style Thanksgiving meal and each Veteran in attendance was honored with a specialty challenge coin on behalf of Inter Miami CF and Feeding South Florida. The group also received a custom tote and gift card from Publix. In addition, Feeding South Florida had a tent on site for Veterans to get more information on the resources that the non-profit provides for veterans and their families and how they can access aid whenever needed.
