With Inter Miami CF’s first official 2023 preseason friendly right around the corner, in which it will host historic Brazilian side Vasco da Gama at DRV PNK Stadium this Saturday, both teams held a press conference today to preview the exciting fixture.
“I love Brazilian football…and I think that tomorrow we’ll be playing against a team that plays the Brazilian way. They are brave, they attack, they have good forward players they just play free and that’s what I’m really looking forward to in the game,” said Head Coach Phil Neville, who is heading into his third season at the helm.
“We are looking forward to the match… there’s a very positive environment and we all honestly really hope to see that tomorrow, to see the fans in the stands and to appreciate a good match,” expressed Vasco da Gama head coach Maurício Barbieri, who is heading into his first season with the Brazilian club.
As both teams finalize details ahead of this weekend’s matchup, there’s one particular player who can’t wait to come back and get the 2023 season underway after his transfer to Inter Miami was made permanent, striker Leonardo Campana.
“I’m happy. I’m excited to be a part of this club… they opened the doors for me when I needed a team and gave me confidence. I work hard every day in thanking this club and I will continue to work hard for what’s to come,” said Campana.
