The September FIFA international window saw nine Inter Miami CF players, one Inter Miami CF II player and three Academy players represent the Club abroad by joining their respective national teams for the Concacaf Nations League, UEFA Euros qualifiers, FIFA World Cup qualifiers and international friendlies.
Let’s take a look at how our players wrapped up their international performances!
Robert Taylor - Finland
Versatile midfielder Robert Taylor featured off the bench for Finland in the team’s two 2024 UEFA Euros qualifying matches. Taylor first made an appearance against Kazakhstan in the 85th minute, in which his team came out on top winning on the road 0-1 on Thursday, Sept. 7. Finland would then match up against Denmark, where the midfielder would come on again as a second half substitute, playing the last 10 minutes during its 0-1 loss against On Sunday, Sept. 10.
Josef Martínez - Venezuela
Striker Josef Martínez was called up to represent the Venezuelan national team in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Martínez was first subbed on the 59th minute in the team’s first qualifying matchup against Colombia on Sept. 7, where the striker played 31 before falling 0-1 at the Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Melendez in Barranquilla, Colombia. However, in their second fixture on Sept. 12, he started for La Vinotinto, as he helped the team come away with a 1-0 victory.
Diego Gómez - Paraguay
Midfielder Diego Gómez represented Paraguay in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. The Paraguayan international made his fifth appearance for his country against Peru, starting and playing only 66 minutes to help preserve the 0-0 draw at home.
Sergii Kryvstov - Ukraine
Sergii Kryvstov and Ukraine competed in the 2024 UEFA Euros qualifiers, coming up against the likes of England and Italy. On Sept. 9, Kryvstov came off the bench and played 45 minutes against England in a 1-1 draw. The defender would then start against Italy and play the full 90 minutes as the team fell 2-1 at San Siro in Milan, Italy on Sept. 12.
Lionel Messi - Argentina
Inter Miami captain Lionel Messi and Argentina got the team’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers underway. He played 89 minutes and scored a 78th-minute free-kick goal for La Albiceleste to earn a 1-0 win over Ecuador at the Estadio Monumental, Buenos Aires on Thursday, Sept. 7. Messi was then rested for the 0-3 win on the road against Bolivia on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
Drake Callender and Benjamin Cremaschi - USA
Midfielder Benjamin Cremaschi and goalkeeper Drake Callender were called up by USMNT for two friendlies. Cremaschi remained an unused substitute in the first match which resulted in a 3-0 win over Uzbekistan on Saturday, Sept. 9 before coming on as a second half substitute to make is USMNT debut in the 4-0 win over Oman on Tuesday, Sep. 12. Callender, meanwhile, remained an unused substitute against Oman.
David Ruiz - Honduras
Homegrown midfielder and Academy product David Ruiz remained an unused substitute against Jamaica as Honduras fell 1-0 on the road in the Concacaf Nations League on Friday, Sep. 9. In the following match, he made his senior team debut at international level, coming on in the 71st minute in a 4-0 win over Grenada.
Edison Azcona - Dominican Republic
Inter Miami attacker Edison Azcona, who was subbed on the 64 minute, and the Dominican Republic national team suffered a 2-0 loss against Nicaragua at the Estadio Félix Sánchez in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on Friday, Sept. 8. Azcona then started in the team’s next Concacaf Nations League game, which resulted in a 3-0 win over Montserrat on Monday, Sept. 11.
Tyler Hall (Inter Miami CF II) - U-17 U.S. MYNT
Inter Miami CF II defender Tyler Hall was called up by the U.S. U-17 MYNT for the Václav Ježek Cup in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic. Hall and the USA defeated Ukraine 3-2 on Wed. Sept 6, and fell 3-1 against Switzerland on Friday, Sept. 8 and 2-0 against the Czech Republic on Sept. 10.
Adrián Rosario, Benjamin Donato and Sebastian Otero (Academy) - Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico and Academy players Adrián Rosario, Benjamin Donato and Sebastian Otero had their share of victories participating in the Concacaf Nations League. In a 6-1 victory against Bahamas on Saturday, Sept. 9, Rosario was an unused substitute while Donato and Otero were both subbed on. In the subsequent 5-0 victory over Antigua and Barbuda on Sept. 12, Otero remained on the bench and Rosario and Donato were both subbed on.
