Inter Miami CF forward Leonardo Campana has been named to the starting XI of the MLS Team of the Week for week 6 of the 2022 season following his hat trick-scoring performance in the 3-2 victory against 2021 Supporters’ Shield winners the New England Revolution on Saturday, April 9 at DRV PNK Stadium.
The Ecuadorian international started and played the entire 90 minutes in a history-making performance, scoring the club’s first ever hat-trick. Campana’s trio of goals came from a header in the 17th minute, a left footed strike in the 23rd minute, and a right footed tap-in in the 88th minute, completing a perfect hat-trick. Campana finished the match with a 75% goal conversion rate off of four shots on goal and an 80% pass rate.
Campana’s inclusion is his first appearance in the Team of the Week. He joins Damion Lowe as the second Inter Miami player to receive the honor this season.
