Back in MLS Regular Season Action
Inter Miami will resume 2023 MLS regular season action after a busy and successful month in cup competitions in which the team clinched the 2023 Leagues Cup title to win the Club's first official trophy, secured a 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup berth and a spot in the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup final.
In the team's most recent match, Inter Miami clinched a spot in its first-ever Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup final by defeating FC Cincinnati in penalties on the road at TQL Stadium. The thriller that finished tied 3-3 after extra time saw strikers Leonardo Campana and Josef Martínez score the team’s goals on the night, bagging a brace and a goal respectively, with a pair of assists from captain Lionel Messi and one from Academy product Benjamin Cremaschi, who also netted the winning penalty.
Winning Streak
Inter Miami will seek to extend its current Club-record eight match winning streak. By topping Cincinnati in the U.S. Open Cup semifinals the team extended its winning streak to eight after previously winning all eight fixtures en route to the title in the 2023 Leagues Cup.
In-Form Attackers
The team's forwards are currently enjoying a hot-streak, with Campana, Martínez and Messi being key players throughout Inter Miami's winning run over the past month. Messi has been in stellar form, scoring in seven out of eight appearances since joining Inter Miami. In eight matches as an Inter Miami player the Argentine has registered a total of 16 goal contributions; 10 goals and six assists. Martínez, meanwhile, scored three times in the Leagues Cup title-winning campaign and Campana scored a key double in the U.S. Open Cup semifinal.
Overall, the three attackers have tallied 26 goals across all competitions this season; Martinez with 10, Messi with 10, and Campana with six.
