Inter Miami CF (12W-4L-8D, 44 points) earned a point tonight with a 1-1 draw on the road against Chicago Fire FC in MLS regular season action. Midfielder Casemiro scored the Club’s lone goal of the evening at Soldier Field.

Inter Miami took the field with Dayne St. Clair in goal; Ian Fray, Casemiro, Maximiliano Falcón, and Fricio Caicedo formed the back four; Rodrigo De Paul, Yannick Bright, and Telasco Segovia started in midfield; captain Leo Messi, Germán Berterame, and Luis Suárez led the team’s attack.  Â

Inter Miami created several attacking opportunities throughout the opening half, with efforts from Berterame and Messi denied by Chicago goalkeeper Chris Brady to keep the score at 1-0 heading into halftime.
Following the restart, Inter Miami found the equalizer through a perfectly executed corner kick from Messi, who found Casemiro for a powerful header in the 48th minute. The goal marked Casemiro’s third of the campaign and his third consecutive match with a goal. Meanwhile, Messi recorded his 13th assist of the season, placing him as the MLS assist leader.
Inter Miami continued searching for the go-ahead goal throughout the second half but ultimately could not find a winner.
Notably, St. Clair produced two important saves in the second half to deny Chicago’s attacking threats and help Inter Miami secure a point on the road.
