Inter Miami will look to bounce back from a difficult 0-4 home loss against New York City Red Bulls. Head coach Phil Neville believes that this result keeps the team's expectation in check while they work to achieve this season’s objectives.
“It's a reality check for us all to keep our feet on the ground, for our supporters to keep our feet on the ground, for everybody in the Club to keep our feet to the ground,” said Neville.
“We still got a lot of work to do and nobody is going to come and hand us a playoff place without us working really hard.”
Midfielder Blaise Matuidi wants to quickly move past this game and focus on the team’s next match against Nashville.
“This wasn't our night and we have to focus on the next game against Nashville, it’s coming soon so we have to focus on that and forget this game,” said Matuidi.
Neville agreed as there is no room for dwelling on results at this point of the season.
“It’s a disappointing night, we’ve got to move on very fast. We are now on the home straight where you can’t dwell on defeats… We now have got to make sure that we mentally prepare for the game against Nashville.
“We’re going into the home straight and we are in a really good position to attack the home straight, we just need to be mentally ready now and mentally fresh,” concluded the head coach.
