Inter Miami CF attacker Leo Messi has been named to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Matchday presented by Audi for Matchday 34 of the 2026 regular season. Our captain earns TOTM honors for the 13th time this regular season after spearheading a 1-2 comeback victory on the road for Inter Miami over the New England Revolution on Sunday night.
Messi was directly involved in both Inter Miami goals on the evening at GIllette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. First, he provided a headed assist for Germán Berterame as Inter Miami equalized in the 69th minute.
Our captain then sealed the comeback in stellar fashion in the 83rd minute. Luis Suárez played a ball to Messi in a central position outside the box, where the Argentine maestro made his way past three defenders before combining with Segovia to break into the box and finding the back of the net with a grounded hit to the bottom-right corner.
Messi has tallied 26 goals in 30 appearances this regular season and leads the race for the 2026 MLS Golden Boot, while also dishing out 16 assists in the process.
