With the start of the 2023 regular season inching closer and closer, Inter Miami CF continues to strengthen its squad with the signings of two Argentine players: former Club Deportivo Godoy Cruz left back Franco Negri and former AIK attacking midfielder Nicolás Stefanelli, who can also be deployed as a striker. Both players addressed media for the first time in Inter Miami colors today and showcased their excitement ahead of the 2023 season.
“To come here is a challenge. For me, I believe this is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I want to get better physically and mentally so I can give the best of myself to the squad”, said Negri.
“The quality of players here is amazing and I believe this group together can achieve big things… I’m very excited to be apart of this process”
Stefanelli also showed his excitement as he’s ready to hit the ground running and help the team have a successful 2023 season.
“When they told me about the project that Inter Miami has for this season and the future, I loved it. This club has a lot of ambition to win titles and to finish at the top,” expressed Stefanelli, who’s nicknamed Chicho.
With the excitement of the new signings bolstering the team, head coach Phil Neville expects a well-rounded squad before the first game of the regular season kicks off as Inter Miami prepares.
“I think a hundred percent these signings will raise the level of our performance. We’re in good shape… we want the team to get the fitness, get the rhythm, get the passing and qualities that we expect, and from then it’s just a continuation of our build up to match onFebruary 25th,” concluded Neville.
