Inter Miami CF announced it signed goalkeeper Dylan Castanheira through the 2021 Major League Soccer season, with club options for 2022 and 2023, on January 27, 2021, with the Landing, N.J. native making the jump to the First Team from the Club’s USL League One team, Fort Lauderdale CF.
Inter Miami acquired the College Protected List Rights to Castanheira in a trade with FC Dallas in exchange for a natural fourth-round pick (No. 79 overall) in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft on Jan. 9, 2020. He subsequently spent the 2020 season with Fort Lauderdale CF.
Castanheira registered 11 appearances with Fort Lauderdale CF, all of them starts, and ranked fifth in USL League One with 44 saves, including the Save of the Week for weeks 2, 4, and 10.
