Felipe Valencia was signed by Inter Miami as a Homegrown player in December, 2020, becoming the first Inter Miami CF Academy product to earn a First Team contract in Club history.Â
Valencia, of Colombian-born parents, joined Inter Miami CF Academy in 2019 after a successful showing during the Club’s first-ever tryout sessions. He continued his progress within the Club’s development platform by becoming the youngest of 15 Academy players to join Inter Miami CF II in the USL League One for the 2020 season.
Valencia also made history with Inter Miami CF II, becoming the youngest player to score a goal at any USL level at just 15 years, five months and 18 days. His goal broke the record set by current FC Bayern Munich star and former Vancouver Whitecaps academy product Alphonso Davies.Â
On the international level, Valencia has been called by the U.S. U-15 National Team.
