Frequently Asked Questions:

Are pre-sale license plate vouchers refundable or transferable?

Because we have hit the pre-sale requirements and the license plates are now in production, all pre-sale vouchers are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Once the license plate is available, will I have to pay additional fees?

With a pre-sale voucher: In most cases, yes you will most likely have to pay additional fees. The voucher will cover the specialty plate for the first year once the plate has been manufactured and is available at your local tax collector’s office. If your license plate is not due for a mandatory replacement (every 10 years) and , you will likely need to pay a fee between $28.00 -$36.90 to replace it. These fees do not cover the annual registration renewal fees.

All license plate owners (with or without the use of a pre-sale voucher): License plate owners will need to pay a $25 annual use fee & a $5 processing fee on top of what other fees the transaction charges.

If I ordered a pre-sale voucher, what is the process to access and use it?

If you purchased a pre-sale voucher, the voucher will be attached to your driver record in the State of Florida’s registration system. You will be able to redeem it once the plates are produced and you request the plate at time of renewal or as an on-demand plate replacement.
